At the beginning of the establishment of Shanghai Donnelly Factory in 2002, it introduced a 2-room RTO of TANN brand, which has been used ever since. In 2013, it was included in the Technical Guidelines for the Treatment of Volatile Organic Compounds from Industrial Stationary Sources in Shanghai.
With the passage of time, the domestic environmental protection policy has grown from scratch and become more and more strict. This 2-room RTO has been running up to the standard for 20 years, and the treatment efficiency has never declined.
TANN brand RTO is the only RTO brand designated by Donnelly in the world, which has been silently guaranteeing the green operation of Donnelly factory. So far, a total of 34 sets of equipment have been installed in Donnelly's global factory, many of which have reached the standard of operation for more than 30 years.

Analysis of VOCs Governance in Printing Industry

 

1、 Source of VOCs in printing enterprises
According to various data, VOCs emission in book printing industry mainly comes from printing, binding, film covering, glazing, bronzing and other processes. The data shown in the figure below shows the impact of various raw materials on VOCs.

 

2、 Characteristics of printing waste gas
Organized emission of waste gas: mainly from the process, especially the drying process, usually with a special collection system and emission system;
Unorganized exhaust gas: mainly from VOCs volatilized from various processes, mainly distributed in workshops.
Organized emission of waste gas usually has the following characteristics:
·There are many waste gas components:
The commonly used solvents are ethanol, ethyl acetate, n-propyl ester, n-propanol, isopropanol, etc
·The air volume of exhaust gas is large and varies greatly:
Single lines vary from thousands to tens of thousands. For gravure printing, the exhaust air volume of a single color deck is usually 1000-4000m ³/ H.
·The concentration of exhaust gas varies greatly with the product or process
Printing products, equipment, production status, etc
·Large difference in exhaust gas concentration:
Typically, 2-3g/m ³ Left and right (imported equipment); Most of the low ones are below 1g, while the high ones can reach 4g/Nm ³ above
·The exhaust gas is usually clean:
Generally, it only contains VOCs and does not contain dust or a small amount of dust.
·Exhaust gas temperature is not high:
Mostly between 30~60 ℃
3、 Key points of printing waste gas treatment

 

4、 Selection of printing waste gas treatment methods
·For organized printing waste gas (waste gas from main oven):
When the concentration is high, such as 2.0 g/Nm ³ Above, RTO direct combustion treatment;
When the concentration is low, such as 1.5g/Nm ³ In the following cases, priority should be given to air reduction (LEL, ESO and other air reduction methods) to increase the concentration of exhaust gas. If it is impossible to reduce the air flow, the runner can only be used for concentration treatment (not recommended in general, with large investment and poor system reliability)
·For offset printing, silk screen printing and other printing waste gases using UV ink,
As the waste gas may contain special components, which may cause damage to the zeolite runner, the zeolite runner concentration technology should be carefully selected for treatment
For low concentration workshop unorganized waste gas
If the concentration of oven exhaust gas is relatively high, it can be mixed with it and sent to RTO together;
When the concentration of waste gas from the oven is low, it can be considered to use zeolite runner for concentration treatment first, and then send the high concentration waste gas to RTO for treatment;
Considering the isolation of the printing line, it can effectively reduce the amount of unorganized exhaust gas, and also can effectively control the smell of the workshop.
